So…I am upgrading the subs in my car and I am buying the box separately and then purchasing 2 subs online…Is there any difference between the 2006 and 2008 models of the L5s or L7s…I see that they are both rated at either 600RMS–L5s and 750RMS–L7s…Is there any differences in terms of upgrades on the 08s or would they pretty much be the same exact sub?? Also the difference is 150 RMS per sub 300 RMS total…This is less than 2 dB so I'm assuming they will both sound extremely loud?

Any suggestions could save me some cash

hmmm. Well to start you off the 08 version has a better warranty than the 06 warrenty,(both of which are provided by kicker). And also the 08 version has a new vacuum stamped solo-baric cone much sturdier than the 06 version, which allows for better sound quality and less distortion.all in all i hope that helps.

rms Root Mean Squared. this is the wattage the sub can handle all the time. the higher number is what it can handle for a very short time without damage.
