Use a single channel(mono block) amp. Make sure its 1 ohm stable and the RMS power rating is as close to the power range(RMS, continous power that the sub can recieve) of both subs together. Id say at least an amp that puts out about 1200w RMS at a 1 ohm load. Look at the RMS rating of an amp and never the max. Wire the subs in parallel which means positive to postive and negative to negative. This lowers the resistance which means you get more power from your amp. Also, for any systems thats draws 1000w+, i would upgrade you alternator to a High Ouptut one. A good deep cycle battery and at least 2ga power wire. Good Luck!

eventually i want to replace the stock door speakers and add tweeters. any suggestions for that?

also all of the amps i have seen have a RMS power range and a max. which one do i need to be looking at.

some brands u could look into for amps are Rockford Fosgate, kicker, and alpine. Other good brands include Sundown Audio and Crossfire audio. Just remember, u get what you pay for though. A single channel is used mostly for subwoofers and multi channel is used for driving component speakers

If ur going to replace stock speakers, just go with a good brand like Polk Audio, Infinity, and even alpines and pioneers. Its all up to you and what ur willing to spend. Ull most likely need to drive them with a 4channel Amp that drives all speakers each on a seperate channel.

As for Amps,always look at RMS. Thats the contiuous power it puts out at a ohm rating rather than peak wattage. Your upgraded speakers also have an RMS rating that needs to matched with the amp that you choose.
