Speakers aren't mean to be square. Stick with round subs. I have one alpine type r 12 runnin 600 watts rms and on my way home from work today I almost gagged because it was rattling my throat. And I've heard kicker l7's before and I wasn't too impressed

L7 has a wider voice coil, better heat capability, bigger gauge coil wire. Stiffer spider stiffer surround!
Also 1/4" better excursion.
