2 ohms: 425 watts x 2 chan.

It all depends on how you wire your subs. When you wire a 2 ohm sub, it either presents a 1ohm or 4 ohm load (depending on how you wired it. Parallel = 1ohm, Series = 4ohm). But when you wire both subs together, your load will go back to 2ohms. The 2nd amp – 08ZX1000.1 will provide more power than the other amp. At 2ohm, you have a 1000 watts x 1 channel rating. So 500 watts will go to each sub. As opposed to the first amp, where you have only 425 watts going to each sub. Get the mono 08ZX1000.1. Wire your subs in series (wire each sub in series) then connect the subs together will parallel wiring. Check out this site http://mobile.jlaudio.com/support_pages.… . I would use the ZX1000.1 or the ZX1500.1. They are class D amps and are better suited for the higher power outputs. Both of the amps you have listed will be under-powering the subs but they sound fine. I am running a CVR with 200 rms and it still pounds.
