I would find an amp that pushes the total watts RMS of both subs with the correct impedance.

For example, if my subs were 200 watts RMS @ 4 ohm SVC, then the amp would be 400 watts RMS @ 2 ohm because I'd wire them in parallel – http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j230/s… for a 2 ohm load.

If they were 200 watts RMS @ 4 ohm DVC, then I would get an amp that's 400 watts @ 4 ohm and wire them parallel-series – http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j230/s… for a 4 ohm load.

How you load an amp determines the amount of power out.

There is a trade off though, the lower the impedance (ohms) the more power is pushed as well as higher distortion and more heat is generated. The excessive heat will shorten the life of the amp.

For best overall performance, it's far better to get a higher powered amp and load it with 4 ohms than a lower powered amp and force it to push more power with a lower impedance (2 or less ohms) load.

Even though this is what I would do, most people don't understand amplifier loading and will squeeze more power from an amp by lowering the impedance. This is also why so many people have problems and consider the brand they have as junk when it's really how they have the system configured.
