just don't gain up to high, otherwise you can blown the amplifier out. I would suggest you to switch it to Kicker ZX750.1D amp if you want to gain all that way up.

you can use a 400 watt amp. just know that you will be slightly underpowering the speakers. be careful not to turn the gains up too high to try and compensate if you don't think it's loud enough.

when you say clear bass that has more to do with box/ installation than the subwoofer itself in most cases. A cheapo $40 subwoofer can sound clear in the right box it just won't be loud. Everything has to work together to get what you want. that's why they call it a stereo "system "

for 170 your not going to get anything decent, Unless you getting the Comp CVR 15 inch ones' they are not that good compared to 12 inch CVX's for about the same price your paying for it. any thing from 15 inch L5, CVX, and L7 is going to cost more than 170 dollars, unless you find some used ones, my friend sold his 15 inch L7 for 500 dollars one Pair, he have used that for 2 years. Plus 12 inch CVX just sound as good as 15 inch L5, I have owned 2 12 inch CVX before kick butt woofer. Running on the MTX TE1501D amp. very nice system, but yea if your looking for 15 inch woofer I would suggest you looking at something different your not going to get a decent 170 dollar 15 inch Kicker woofer.

yes. The amp only senses impedance – whether that is 1 sub or 50 subs.
If the amp is 1200w at 1 ohm and you connect ONE dvc 2 to it wired for 1 ohm the sub will get 1200w, obviously.

If you connect, for example, 4 dvc 2's wired for one ohm the amp still produces 1200w, but each sub will get 400.

A pair of dvc 4 cvx's wired for 1 would each get 600.

I'm assuming we're talking about real-world RMS power ratings.

That's what it means by 1200 watt amp (peak power most likely), 600 x 2. Not 1200 watts per channel. And see what ohm it has to be wired at to push 600 watts a channel, 2 ohm, 1 ohm, 1/2 ohm. Hope this helps
