Question: How do I configure my system so that all bass is pushed out of the subwoofers?
Here are some answers about your question: How do I configure my system so that all bass is pushed out of the subwoofers?.
Answers of your question:
I have a 2005 Ford Escape with 2 12inch Kicker Subs in the back and a 1000 watt amp to go along with it. My head unit is a pioneer FH-P8000BT. I've yet been able to upgrade my door speakers so they are all stock. Is there anyway I can push all the bass out of my Subs instead of both?
————————
Answers of your question:
Luckilly you have a good deck that can handle doing it! The below steps will allow you to only have a certain range go through your normal speakers and push the lows to the sub. See the below steps:
Either 80 or 100hz is what you want, all depends on what sounds best for you.
Using the high pass filter
When you do not want low sounds from the
subwoofer output frequency range to play
from the front or rear speakers, turn on the
HPF (high pass filter). Only frequencies higher
than those in the selected range are output
from the front or rear speakers.
1 Display the audio menu.
Refer to Introduction of audio adjustments on
page 44.
2 Use MULTI-CONTROL to select
HIGH PASS FILTER.
3 Press MULTI-CONTROL to turn high
pass filter on.
80HZ appears in the display. High pass filter is
now on.
# If the high pass filter has been previously adjusted,
the frequency of that previously selected
will be displayed instead of 80HZ.
# To turn high pass filter off, press
MULTI-CONTROL again.
4 Push MULTI-CONTROL left or right to
select cut-off frequency.
Each time MULTI-CONTROL is pushed left or
right, cut-off frequencies are selected in the
following order:
50HZ—63HZ—80HZ—100HZ—125HZ

Question: Why does my car stereo system shut off when listening to music?
Here are some answers about your question: Why does my car stereo system shut off when listening to music?.
Answers of your question:
i have a 2000watt power acustic amp and two 12" kicker subwoofers, i also have a jensen in-dash tv, with a 2.0 fared capacitor.
————————
Answers of your question:
Depends on what is shutting off. If it is just the amp, check the wiring of your subs. You cannot run two 4 ohm svc subs in parallel to a bridged Power Acoustik amp. The only exception to this is if your particular amp is rated 1 ohm stable and can be bridged to 2 ohm mono. They made a few amps that were 1 ohm stable a few years back, but not many.
If your head unit is shutting off too, it may not be the problem. Check your grounds. If your whole car loses power, it may be the main ground wire off the battery.
If your whole audio system is run off a single fuse somewhere (It shouldn't be), than that fuse may be it's way out. Replace the fuse, and install a new amp power wire that runs direct to the battery and has it's own fuse. The amp should not be wired to any pre-existing circuit. Even a small amp (<100 watts) needs its own power lead.
————————
Answers of your question:
your car has a slow burning fuse in it anytime your have to many
things going the car will shut off when the music is real loud that
is a lot of power comming from the amp.
————————
Answers of your question:
Your amp is overheating and probably has a thermal protection circuit built in.
————————
Answers of your question:
if you installed everything yourself, check your grounds. Loose ground connections cause this exact problem a lot of times. And like others have said, you may be pulling too much power and straining your alternator. I'd try a bigger capacitor firs, then go from there with other power supply.
————————
Answers of your question:
Turn your gains to a higher number.

Answers of your question:
I recently bought a Kicker DCVR12 subwoofer which is 2 12 inch woofers at 4 ohms and i don't know what i should use to power them. they can handle 800 watts rms and 1600 watts peak. any ideas?
————————
Answers of your question:
id use a couple Rockford Fosgate T10001bd's and just not keep them up all the way sense the subs can only handle 800 and those put out 1000 rms (but keeping them down to 800 should sound better sense the amp would have some headroom and wouldnt be clipping or anything.)

Question: Will i overpower my subwoofers with my amp?
Here are some answers about your question: Will i overpower my subwoofers with my amp?.
Answers of your question:
i ordered a 2 channel 4000 watt amp that puts out RMS of 500w x 2 @ 4 ohms, i also ordered 2 Kicker 15 inch 4 ohm subwoofers with a peak power of 1000 watts and an RMS rating of 500 watts @ 4 ohms. I dont know much about this stuff but that seems to add up but the 4000 watt amp worries me. Should it? And, probably another stupid question but i should get an amp wiring kit that is rated a 4000W, right?
————————
Answers of your question:
You have a good match. Never worry about MAX or peak watts as they are used to impress you into thinking you have 4000 watts.
Amplifiers rarely ever reach MAX, it's the RMS watts you need to pay attention to. on both the amp and subs.
Since your amp is 500 watts X 2 @ 4 ohms and your subs are 500 watts RMS @ 4 ohm each, just wire each sub to each channel and you're golden.
The next step is get the right enclosure for the subs. My site has tips on this matter and will help you greatly: http://spkrbox1.spaces.live.com
Something to consider…this is an example…
To calculate the current draw of an amplifier, multiply the number of channels by the RMS watts per channel (a 2 channel amp rated at 500 watts RMS per channel would be 1000 watts). Double it to account for amplifier inefficiency (1000 watts X 2 = 2000 watts), then divide by the average output voltage of an alternator, 13.8 volts (2000 divided by 13.8 = 145 amps). Since the average music signal requires about 1/3rd of the average power in a test tone, divide by 3 (145 amps divided by 3 = 48 amps).
This is an average approximation of current draw and it can go higher. So I would gather between *48 and 72 amperes for this example.
The alternator of a:
compact car is about 35 amps
mid-sized car is about 65-75 amps
SUV is about 145 amps
Calculate 40% of the amperes of the alternator you have now. This is the average current the car uses when running. Add this number to the approximate average current draw (*48), and you will come up with the actual size of alternator you need.
If the number you come up with is the same as what your alternator supplies, you need to take no action.
————————
Answers of your question:
no u dont need a writing kit just more speakers
————————
Answers of your question:
I highly doubt that the Amp will ever even come close to 4000 watts in reality, the RMS rating is what you should pay attention to. Since the RMS ratings match, it should be ok.
————————
Answers of your question:
The setup you described should work great and sound fantastic, i had a similar set up in my 67 gto before i upgraded to the solo-x 18's.
Wiring kits are way over rated, so a 4000 watt kit will more than power your system. make sure you have some decent capacitance (i'd suggest 4 farads minimum) or youre going to notice your lights dimming every time the bass hits.
a good box, a good battery, and a good alternator are my final suggestions, good luck, sounds like you're on your way to be one hell of an audiophile.
————————
Answers of your question:
That should work just fine. Bass takes more power anyway and that should sufficient. Most likely you won't be using all of the 4000 watts anyway, but you will have plenty of power for some awsome clean undistorted bass. The other question would be yes, to your wiring, probably a 10 if not less gauge wire. Maybe even down to 4 guage wire, and you will need to do the same for your speaker wires, big wires..Hope this helps.

Here are some answers about your question: Would my subwoofers sound better in the trunk or my back seat?.
Answers of your question:
I have a 10 inch kicker sub in my back seat connected to a 450 watt 4 channel amp and it doesnt sound very good at all. You can barely hear the bass. Would it sound better in the trunk?
————————
Answers of your question:
if it doesnt sound good in the back seat it wont sound any better in the trunk. if by some chance that it does, your trunk will rattle like crazy. the subs in my car rattle my trunk so loud sometimes i can hear it above the music and my music is played so loud you can hear it over 100 ft. away…hope that helps
————————
Answers of your question:
mine is in the trunk and it sounds great…. but i always thought in the back seat they sound better…. maybe you should relook yours
————————
Answers of your question:
first you have check your wiring and maybe you have to check if the woofer is blown. if it is alright then put the woofer in the trunk but face it towards the front, this will help, the closed trunk will take a low sound but make sound much better in the front. if you check the rms of your woofer then you will know what size of amp you will need. the bigger amp is not always better.
————————
Answers of your question:
you should try and get a different amp maybe a 2 channel
and i agree with NT
