The lower the ohms the more watts your amp will put out. BUTT. never go lower then the amp is aloud. If you have two woofers at 4 ohms. if you wire them up where the + is connected to the+ of the other woofer and the same with the – the ohms is cut in half so now your at 2 ohms. + to + – to – is called parallel. two 4 ohm woofers connected parallel is now a 2 ohm load. that will hit a lot harder than a 4 ohm load which you will only get with one sub. two 4 ohm subs run series which is running + to – between the two subs will add the two together and give you 8 ohms which is not a good idea for car app.

This will:

1) cause the amp to run hotter
2) increase the THD (total harmonic distortion)
3) reduce the life of the amp because of excessive heat

For more power, get a bigger system and run it at a higher impedance (ie. 4 ohm).
