It depends on how you want your system to sound.
If you like a variety of music, including rock, and your main purpose is to just listen to music and enjoy it all around, I would say sealed.
If you are looking for a more boomier sound, louder and listen to alot of rap and things, I would say ported/vented.
Sealed generally makes the subs more responsive and have a "snappy" sound, fast and good for all areas of listening. And it is loud.
Vented is focused of being the loudest at a certain frequency. It will sound good all around, but generally it is less responsive, and louder.

That all depends on how much room you have to play with. A vented box I'll give you a little bit better sound, but it requires much more cubic feet than the sealed box. Sealed box like the one that I have on my truck is good cause not only is it just as good as vented, but you don't need as much cubic feet. Small areas= seals and lots of area to play with = vented.

Kicker what? Solobaric Solo-X Competition. Honestly without knowing this 1st the ? u ask is not a easy one. I myself used Sealed when i had Kicker Comp but when i had Solobaric i used a bandpass box.

well if you want fast responsive bass then go with a sealed box if you want a loud boomy bass go w a ported box. a ported box will get louder than a sealed box
